    Africa Travel Tips –Kenya

    Hi,
Let us talk of the notable features of Kenya and its location. This city is situated in East Africa and is a tourist destination. When you consider the geography of Kenya, it is a low lying coastal area with coral reefs and islands and covered with savanna and thombush.

Where the population is concerned, 85 % of the inhabitants live towards the interior which is about 3 miles away from the coastal area.

If you go by air, many International Airlines fly to Kenya and there are two International Airports there. They are Moi airport in Mombasa and Kenyatta airport in Nairobi. If you go by land, there are many places to enter Kenya. Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia are the entrances.

If you wish to get around Kenya by air, there are domestic flights to all the destinations. The Nairobi’s Wilson Airport in the main point from where the smaller domestic flights start. The train gives a better scenic view of the landscape and the beauty of the vegetation. Buses are many and travel from one major city to another with Nairobi being the main station or hub. There are many taxis, if you wish to travel. It is better to agree to the fare before embarking. There are small buses called Matatus which runs around the city. These buses are normally overcrowded and they speed. Then there are Tuk Tuk which are three wheelers and Boda-boda are bicycles.

Visas are necessary to enter Kenya and they could be obtained on arrival at Kenya. Visa costs US $ 50 for a single entry. Then there is the safety feature which you have to be careful about. A few things about safety is your passport should have a copy left in a safe place, avoid walking on the roads in the night.

When walking or driving be careful of the roads as they are not even. Most of the cars come in the night without their headlights on.

Wow what a nice piece of info! Actually I wanna go to that Muslim town in the far western corner of the country and check out that donkey race. What Africa flights can take me there? Can you please tell which Kenyan airport should I use for that?

In general people are extremely friendly in Kenya and you will be humbled by their hospitalire is real poverty in Kenya and you will soon realise that you are far richer and more fortunate than most local people you meeu will probably attract your fair share of souvenir hawkers and beggars, but try and take the time to meet ordinary people going about their day to day business too.

You could put him/her to sleep before you go on the plane, so it doesn't cry. I have heard stories where they would sedate the baby before the flight.
