Travel across canada- Montreal to Vancouver
Were a couple in the early 20's wanting to travel across Canada from Montreal to Vancouver starting the 29th of June.
We are curious to know if anyone has done such a trip. We would like to save as much money as possible because the budget we set for the trip is around $1200 for the both of us. Is that reasonable enough?
We would like to hitchhike or share a ride with people that are traveling, but we are not sure where and how we can find people doing similar trips with such a long destination. Is hitchhiking possible in such a trip in canada? has anyone done it before?
We would love to know somebody who has done that and can give us advice or recommendations on how we can go about this trip saving as much money as possible.
We are very excited for the adventure and dont mind camping on the way with sleeping bags given that it is summer.
Our plan: we have a 3 week window to travel backpacking across canada to vancouver and staying in vancouver for 2/3 nights and travel back to montreal by plane. (plane ride is not included in our $1200 budget)
If anyone has suggestions or would like to join us on the trip pls let us know.
Much appreciated!

I think you can do all of $ 1,200. I believe that if transported by bus to the end there would be less - Hitchhiking should be entirely possible, even if you can wait a long time to get to drive in some places. It was the sign that says West / Ouest and it looks reasonably clean and the people should take. I took hitchhikers before, but I would like to know where they are going, and do not like when they appear as punk or rubber. Before we get bombarded with discrimination, it is my car and I do not have a choice.

Re :
For something unique, you might want to consider The Sunset Key Guest Cottages (37 cottages), which are on a separate island that is a 10-minute boat ride from Duval Street.

Delta Chelsa?
My only criticism of this hotel is that there is no free wi-fi in the rooms! I see no excuse for this in todays day and age when other luxury hotels do it. The Marriott two blocks up has it as do hostels so why can't they? That being said there is wifi in the lobby if you can find a spot on one of the couches.
Other than that little bed bug the Delta Chelsea is fantastic! It's a very, very busy hotel so if you're looking for somewhere quiet this is not the hotel for you. I found the hallways to be a little out dated but other than that I really enjoyed my stay.
