My friend and I are in our late 20's and will be in NZ for the rugby world cup between 13th and 31st OCT 2011 and will be watching both the semis (15th and 16th Oct) and the Final on the 23rd Oct - all 3 games are in Auckland. Cant wait!

We will be travelling in a big motorhome ( luxury :P ) and have decided to do the north island after the semis and the south island after the Final (already booked the ferry's for the south).

We have around 6 days to explore the north but not sure where is best to go, I'd love to see some snow and would love even more to ski if the season allows. adventurous stuff is a must- please advise.

As for the south we have around 6 days to play with, Queenstown would be good but have been told Milford Sound is a must, keen to do the helicopter thing, glaciers, water sports anything wild and adventurous! Where are the best restaurants? What festivals will be occurring at the time. Any advice or a makeshift itinery would be highly apprecciated. I like the wineries too, not sure about my mate might have to convert him!
