In a recent topic we talked about islands in the South Pacific (Tahiti, Fiji, etc.). Tahiti islands (Bora Bora, Moorea, etc.) have the most beautiful scenic beaches. I prefer Fiji. Fiji islands offer a nearly comparable island paradise and is less expensive. People speak French on the Tahiti islands. There is minor regional conflict among people on Fiji islands.

I have read good reviews on islands in the Caribbean including Anguilla and U.S. Virgin Islands (St. John). What is the overall best island destination in the Caribbean? Comparable to islands in South Pacific?

Keep in mind that the Caribbean islands are much easier to get to for Americans and Europeans. My favourite is St. Lucia.it is located midway down the Eastern Caribbean chain, between Martinique and St. Vincent, and north of Barbados.

I've heard that Caribbean is really a wonderful place for vacation.

Well in my opinion Cuba is the best Island in the Caribbean. In fact the crime is very low, no dangerous animals .. cool people, best beaches, good hotels and great weather .. want more?

Well i have never been in caribbean country but your post make me thinking where would i go i have been traveling to canada in 2nd week of october but your post keeps me thinking where would i go.

Cuba tourist facility is establised very early.It has beautiful beaches.They don't welcome Americans that is the problem.U.S dollars in Cuba is not very useful.Suggest you bring Canadian dollars if you travel to Cuba.They also welcome most major Credit cards. Dominican Republic has drop their resort and hotel rate to attract more Canadian tourist to their country to visit.The other reason they offer better rate is Canadian dollar is strong.Secondly Dominican Republic use to welcome American tourist but U.S. dollar is weak,less tourist visit Dominican Republic.If you are looking for a good deal Dominican Republic is a good choice.If you like to visit many Islands, Eastern Caribbean Cruise vacation also good choice.It runs from December to March.From 3 star to 5 star cruise you can choice from.
