Are there any self-contained resort type facilities within easy reach of Mexico City? We are going with a group of 11 including five kids from 9-16 years old. We would like place where are choices of eateries, possibly activites and pools,and possibly an overall fee much like the resorts in vacation areas. My Spanish is good so we don't need help for the actual travel and I am quite familiar with the city and the area. We hope to rent a van and just mosey around from place to place. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is for beach destinations & resort areas in the Pacific and the Caribbean. The closest thing I could find of this style is in Cuernavaca, some 100 KM south of Mexico City. You can find some more info here:
