    The rich cultural heritage and diversity of South America is reflected in South American cuisine. The food in South America showcases the ethnic diversity and lifestyle of the people living in the continent.

    Delicious dishes ranging from main meals to yummy desserts have built up the cuisine of South America. With numerous South American delicacies to choose from, the continent ranks high in the international field.

    Some splendid fruits along with coffee which comes in various forms like tinto, perico or cafe con leche are favorites in Colombia. Herbal tea is more popular. Rum is very popular along the coast. Colombian recipes include Ajiaco, Bandeja paisa, chicarron, etc.

    Venezuela is a favorite for coffee lovers. Fruit juices, beer, rum, milkshakes all form part of South American food in Venezuela. Delectable dishes like Arepas, Cachapa, Hallaca, Parillada etc make up the table in this country.

    A definite ethnic variety comes up in the cuisine in South America especially in Guyana. East Indian delicacies and Chinese food have influenced Guyanese cuisine. Popular beverages include juices, beer, fruit punch. Delicacies like spicy pepper pot stew, cook-up rice, or seafood dishes are found in Guyana.

    Food in South America provides the visitors with an unforgettable experience as they carry the South American flavor home.

    Well,The cuisine of South America comes from a variety of cultural backgrounds, products, food and cooking products styles.Some the richest South American cuisine from the mid-continent, krill Amazonia.Antarctic has recently been discovered and is now considered a good dish.

    Well i had not traveled lot in south America but i had visited Rio once and liked the atmosphere and culture of that city really very vibrant and colourful.I had tasted some there tradinol dishes out there and i can just say that they all are just delicious.

    Whether it is north or south America you can definitely be amaze with their culture, cuisines, traditions and so on no wonder why there are these continents welcomes plenty of tourist every year.

    Hey it's a great post.South America have rich culture and heritage center.I have planned many times to visit this place but not succeed.Now coming august i will sure make a trip to South America.You have given wonderful information hope it will help me lot.

    Each country in South America has its own traditional foods and deserts, many of them according to old recipes that are traditional in their Native American people.Latin is a very diverse land that holds various cuisines that vary of a nation.
