    Island Peak Climbing -22days

An easy and popular trekking peak, Island Peak(Imja Tse) is an extension of the Lhotse Shar South Ridge. Named Island Peak by Eric Shiptons team in 1952 for the mountain island like shape in a sea of ice, the peak was first climbed in 1953 by Charles Evans, Alf Gregory, Charles Wylie and Tenzing Norgay. Island Peak was renamed Imja Tse in 1983, but climbers and trekkers still refer to it as Island Peak. To reach the peak one has to trek to the Everest Base Camp. Trekking through Sherpa villages and mountain lakes and glaciers we arrive at the Everest Base Camp, fully acclimatized. At EBC the trail forks, and we take the trail leading to Dingboche and Chukhung. From Chukhung we trek to the Island Peak Base Camp. Our summit attempt begins from the base camp. Depending on weather conditions, we may take an additional day to make it to the summit. The high camp lies on the edge of the South West Ridge from where magnificent vistas of the Khumbu Himal can be seen. Magnificent views of the rugged summits of Nuptse (7,879m/ 25,850ft), Lhotse(8501m), Lhotse Shar (8383m), Makalu (8475m), Baruntse (7720m) and Ama dablam (6856m) can be viewed from the Imja glacier.

I also planning to visit Nepal for trekking may be in April. It is one of the best places in the world for trekking because the world’s highest mountains are situated including Mount Everest.
Every year tourist visits in a huge numbers and mostly travel for trekking and hiking.
