Binh Lap – “slow-living” heaven in Khanh Hoa

  1. The following information will give you what you need to know to explore Binh Lap, a pristine island in Cam Ranh.

    With isolated location, very few tourists know about Binh Lap and that is the reason why Binh Lap is still so pristine and a perfect destination for you to hide and enjoy a quiet life.

    Transportation

    Binh Lap is far from Nha Trang city about 80km and Cam Ranh airport 50km. If you depart from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City by airplane, after landing at Cam Ranh airport, you can take a taxi and follow Highway 1A and get to St. DT702.

    From My Thanh market, you cross My Thanh Bridge, turn left to Cam Lap commune. Go further 6km and you will see a T-junction, turn left and get to Binh Lap. At the market, there are always motorbike riders to take you into Binh Lap with price of 80,000 VND.

    Or you can rent a motorbike which costs 120,000 VND/day. If you go in group, you can book a 7-seat bus with price of 300,000 VND/way or 16-seat bus with price of 700,000 VND/way.

    Besides, you can travel by canoe for 30 minutes from Ba Ngoi harbor to see how the local catch seafood and floating houses. Occasionally, it takes about 1 hour to get to Binh Lap by canoe, if you depart from Nha Trang, it takes about 1.5 hours.

    From Binh Lap, you can also visit Phan Rang – Cham Tower (Ninh Thuan), the distance is only 50 km. the route is convenient, you will pass Nai lagoon, Vua lagoon, Nui Chua National Park and Vinh Hy Bay.
    Accommodation

    The most luxury resort on Binh Lap is Ngoc Suong resort, as known as Yen Resort with the price of 2 million VND/ bungalow. You can rent a tent for two at beach of the resort with price of 400,000 VND/night.

    Villa Dao Hoa Vang has a group room with 10 beds and it costs 120,000 VND for week days and 150,000 VND for weekend. Tribble room is 400,000 – 500,000 VND, at weekend is 600,000 VND. Room for 5 people is 500,000 – 600,000 VND and at weekend is 700,000 VND.

    In addition, you can stay in Sao Bien ecotourism. The price for a tent here is 500,000 VND, a room with air-conditioner is from 800,000 to 2 million VND.

    Interesting experiences

    Coming to Binh Lap, you will be amazed by its beauty. It is like you are getting lost in a pristine world which is isolated from the outside. All you need to do is to enjoy yourself in wonderful atmosphere.

    Located in the center is Binh Chau of Bai Ngang. The beach is like a giant blue mirror with slight wind. Bai Ngang is also the place where the local catch seafood.

    Another beach is Bai Lao, very pristine and beautiful. Bai Lao and Bai Ngang are perfect beaches to have a BBQ party after hours of swimming. Besides, Bai Ran attracts tourists by fascinating coral reefs.

    You can also buy tickets to visit Ngoc Suong resort to take photos, sightseeing and mud bath. Near Sao Bien ecotourism is a fishing village. At the end of the village is a small harbor with amazing view for you to take photos.

    Moreover, you can rent a ship to go to Con beach and other pristine beaches around Binh Lap to explore more.

    Staying overnight, sleeping in a tent on a beach and listening to the sound of waves will be the most unforgettable experiences that you have when visiting Binh Lap.

    Trying cuisine

    Seafood of Binh Lap is very fresh and delicious. Restaurants are mainly on Binh Chau beach and Bai Ngang. There is a restaurant in the village called Thanh Tra and it is famous for “pointing chicken”.

    This is a specialty of Binh Lap. The restaurant will cook after your order and the chicken you choose. This dish is about 140,000 VND/ kg.

    Grilled lobster is a dish that you must try. In addition, you should other specialties of Binh Lap such as fish salad rolled with rice paper, squid egg, oyster soup…
